Technical Notes: Skin Base

·      Cleanse, moisturize, and tone skin.
·      Can mix the foundation colours on the back of your hand.
·      Test for right foundation colour on jawline.
·  Look at models skin type (dry and/or oily) and decide what products to use.
·      Mix a primer in with the foundation and apply.
·      Primer can be used alone as a base on men, children, or women as a minimal make-up look.
·      Tinted moisturizers are good for men.
·      Too much make-up on men can flatten their skin.
·  Start applying the base in centre of face and work outwards in circular motions.
·      Use a smaller rounded brush around the eye area.
·      Can hold side of face with a puff to keep the eye steady.
·      Take base all the way up to lash-line and over ears and down neck to wherever the clothing starts.
·      Conceal on top of base.
·      Look for redness around mouth, nose and corner of eyes.
·      Pink tones in concealer get rid of blue tones under eyes.
·      Yellow tones get rid of purple and brown tones.
·      Conceal one to two shades lighter than the base.
·      Powder on top of base.
·      Powder sets the base and reduces shine.
·      Can use a puff to press the powder into the skin by rolling it across the face.
·      Powder eyelids well.
