Technical Notes: Eyes and Lips

Eyes:

·      Prime eyelids.

·      When using grease based eye shadows powder face after.

·      Powder eyelids well before using powder eye shadows.

·      Put lighter colours on first.

·      Use an eye shadow brush to apply.

·      Add eyeliner after eye shadow unless you are doing a smoky eye.

·    With mascara, use disposable mascara wands and do not double dip.

·      Brush the wand on top of the lashes first to remove any product that has fallen onto the lashes, then brush upwards, then do the bottom lashes. 

·      Throw your mascara out every 3 months.

·      Hold brush at the base to apply eye shadows.

·  Once the light colours have been applied to the lid, put lots of powder under the eye to catch any powder that falls down.

·      Shade in socket line and lash line.

·      Blend any edges you don’t want with powder and a cotton bud.

·    Use an angled liner brush and pull up side of face with a pad and line on lash line. Can smudge the line with a cotton bud.

·      Do mascara last (after lips etc).

·      Can use a lash curler before or after mascara.

Lips:

·      Can exfoliate lips with a dry toothbrush.

·      Eight hour cream is good instead of lip-gloss.

·     Use lip-liner close to the lipstick colour, and fill entire lip with liner then go over with lip colour.

·      Can use black eyeliner to line dark lips.

·      Can dot edge of lips with lip-liner to make it easier.

·      Can use Illamasqua angled liner brush to apply lip colour.

·      Brush lipstick towards centre of lip.

·      Add lip-gloss to the middle of the lip.
